It is both rewarding and exhilarating for me to explore the vast world of subject matter, color, light, and emotion. My paintings reflect a broad spectrum of interest: a slice of time in the midst of a conversation for example, or an intriguing moss-encrusted twisted oak, the quirky personality of a much-loved dog, or perhaps raw energy expressed in color and forceful strokes without any attempt at representation. Whatever captures my eye becomes the subject of my next canvas.
